Everyone goes through challenging situations in life, and while you may have successfully navigated through other difficulties you have faced, there’s nothing wrong with seeking out extra support when you need it. In fact, therapy is for people who have enough self-awareness to realize they need additional assistance. Therapy provides long-lasting benefits and support, giving individuals and families the tools needed to re-direct damaging patterns, find new perspectives and understanding, and overcome whatever challenges that life delivers.
In short, I view therapy as “mental training” that helps an individual break through the barriers that hold them back in life.
I have been described as a compassionate and active therapist who is dedicated to helping clients make positive change. I know that all clients enter therapy with specific strengths and do my best to help clients pull from those strengths. I also realize that entering therapy is a large emotional and financial commitment, and do everything I can to make the experience results-oriented so that you can make the most of your investment. My motto in treatment is: “Get in, get change, and get out.” That said, each situation is unique and I tailor my approach to meet your specific needs, concerns, and desired pace.
“Do not be afraid of growing, be afraid of standing still.”
We will move towards change as we explore underlying issues and the connection between your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. We will also explore and work to resolve the roots of any problematic behaviors or patterns that are holding you back. This understanding, along with newly learned skills and mental training, can help you make positive changes in your life. I look forward to working with you.
